Every 18 seconds, a child becomes an orphan. Lets not forget about them.

The children who are available for adoption in Ukraine are not allowed to be photographed and "published" for view due to current Ukrainian laws. This is meant to protect the children and eliminate the chances of unethical or illegal adoptions . That is why in my slide show you will not see any full view faces of the children from the desky dom.

Ladies day at the zoo!

Olena, my mom and I took a day over the weekend and went to the zoo. It was great for just the three of us to spend some time together but it was a last minute decision and it was hot as hell! We sweated our butts off and hardly none of the animals were out because of the heat! O'well, but all in all we had some good quality time together. In a few weeks, once things began to cool down, perhaps we will return, but this time with daddy! She really liked the butterfly house. She was completely amazed about seeing them flying all around. **she has a strange fondness of flying objects?** I tried to get a few good pics but a hot and cranky toddler doesn't usually like to cooperate with mommy and the camera.

mommy and Olena watching the 1 seal that was actually swimming in the Artic aquarium.

She LOVED the huge water fountain that they have there. We had to stand there and watch it for about 10 minutes. She was probably hoping I would tell her we could go swimming.
